Why students don't learn when told?

Students come to learn in a school and they are well aware of the fact that they will be graded for the level of performance, but still there are lots of underlying issues in regard to student achievement.

Follow the tips below to make your classroom a success story for all learners:

1. Always give target and achievement goal together.

2. Be consistent with the rules followed in class.

3 Praise and reward students for any small effort of achievement.

4. Relate work with the ladder of success .

5. Encourage discussions in class.

6. Have a group task for the tough concepts.

7. Encourage collaboration and support for peers.


Appreciation and consistent feedback to students will allow you as a teacher to motivate and tune your students to enhance their learning potential.

            Linking Drama with Technology to learn core concepts Drama is a great way to connect links with any subject. Believe me, it acts wonders for your class. I happen to give key terms for a topic: Computer architecture and told them to research and make a mind map to discuss further. While the discussion started I had very limited participation from my class. So I changed it to an activity where students had to research and role-play particular key terms and introduce themselves as that character to the class. Wow....what a change in the dynamics of my class. I had students saying dialogues as Operating System, User Interface, Compiler and sharing their features.
